Polar Express Day!

Polar Express Day!
Polar Express Dsy was awesome!  We wore our pajamas all day, listened to the story, ate cookies and hot chocolate, visited with Santa, and had a ton of fun!

Listening to the story---

Cookies, hot chocolate, and visiting with Santa...

Class pictures with Santa...

Santa's little surprise.... If you can hear the bell ring, then you still believe!

Star of the Week, Egg-cellent Eggs, Christmas

Star of the Week
Our Star of the Week this week makes us smile every day!  He is quiet, but once he is comfortable, he can make the whole class feel amazing with his laughter!

Egg-cellent Egg Cooking
This week we celebrated the letter Ee by making eggs....well, sort of!  First, we cracked real eggs to determine if they were boiled or raw. We make a graph and found that we had more raw eggs in the basket than boiled eggs. We discussed the parts of an egg and why, and how, the parts looked different when we compared the raw and boiled eggs. Then, we followed a recipe to make egg-cellent eggs out of vanilla yogurt and a peach half. They were the most delicious eggs we have ever had!!!

Winter Party
Since we have been discussing Christmas and holidays around the world, what better way to celebrste than to have a party! We had a great time eating and talking!  My favorite part was when the adults were passing out food and the kids didn't eat anything because they were waiting for me to take pictures!!! They have been trained well!!

Thanks!!!
I would like to take a moment to tell everyone thank you sooooo much for the gifts this holiday season. I am blessed to be a part of your child's life, if only for a brief moment. I am forever grateful for your trust in keeping your children safe and teaching them, in part, to be amazing kids!

Eating Toothy Smiles
Our cooking activity this week was making some tooth smiles. We loved eating our teeth (marshmallows)!

Alliterations
This week in Language Arts we were studying alliterations. We read several books with alliterations in them and some tongue twisters. We then made our own alliterations of twist out of our mouths!

Star of the Week, Eating Dirt, Graphing

This week our star of the week is a quiet boy, but when he smiles....you can't help but smile, too!

On Thursday, Mrs. Nieves made us eat dirt and worms to study the letter Dd!  Well, it wasn't really dirt! It was chocolate pudding, Oreos, and gummy worms.  We used our kindergarten cookbooks and followed the recipe to make dirt.  Eating dirt and worms was soooo good!

Graphing
Math this week was all about graphing as an organized way to find and analyze data or information. We made lots of graphs, including real-life human graphs, object graphs, and picture graphs.
