Duration of Time and Telling Time to the Hour
This week we continued to learn (I know…shocking!!) about time. We talk about duration of time (how long it takes to do something) and telling time to the hour.
In the pictures below, we played a game to estimate which activity took long and then we tested our estimates.
Which takes longer: drawing a rainbow or making a train of twelve cubes? Drawing a rainbow took longer because we had to search for the right colors and put them in order.
Which takes longer: Drawing a picture of yourself or making a play dough snake? Make a snake took longer because he wanted a LONG snake!!
Which takes longer: the class singing the days of the week song or tracing both hands on paper? Tracing the hands took longer because one hand "doesn't work right!"
Which takes longer: doing 5 jumping jacks or writing your first and last name? Writing your first and last name takes longer.
In the pictures below, the students played "What Time Is It?" They made a pretend watch with a time on it. They then had to walk around and ask each student what time was on his/her watch. After they read the student's watch, they had to record the time.
Field Day

We were so wet from the THREE water events that we were too cold to eat inside.
Soooo we had a little picnic in the sun!!
