Star of the Week, Eating Dirt, Graphing

This week our star of the week is a quiet boy, but when he smiles....you can't help but smile, too!

On Thursday, Mrs. Nieves made us eat dirt and worms to study the letter Dd!  Well, it wasn't really dirt! It was chocolate pudding, Oreos, and gummy worms.  We used our kindergarten cookbooks and followed the recipe to make dirt.  Eating dirt and worms was soooo good!

Graphing
Math this week was all about graphing as an organized way to find and analyze data or information. We made lots of graphs, including real-life human graphs, object graphs, and picture graphs.

Pancakes,Pajamas, Nature Center, and Star of the Week

What a week!! We have been hard at work this week!

Star of the Week
Our Star of the Week is a girl that takes kindness to the next level! She is always willing to help her partner and play with anyone that needs a friend!

Nature Center
On Tuesday we want on our first field trip! We rode the bus (some of us for the first time EVER!!) to the Kirby Creek Nature Center. We enjoyed it very much. We used magnifying glasses, took nature walks, saw bat boxes, toured a garden, tasted fresh strawberries off of the vine, and observed fish in the pond. It was an amazing time!!!

Pumpkins and Pajamas
This week we celebrated the letter Pp by wearing pajamas and making pancakes. Since it was Halloween, used food coloring to turn them orange!

Pumpkins
We concluded our study of fall and pumpkins by doing some pumpkin experiments. We learned what "circumference" means and what makes a pumpkin float instead of sink!
