Red Ribbon Week, Cabbage Planting, Star of the Week

This week was Red Ribbon Week at our school. We had so much fun celebrating our choice to be drug free!! We discussed what drugs are, how they affect our body, and what we can do instead of drugs to stay healthy!

Monday was "Drugs are Crazy" so we wore crazy hair to school.

Tuesday was "Follow Your Dreams" day and we wore our pajamas to school.

Wednesday was "Hats off to being Drug Free" and we wore our hats to school.

Thursday was "Saying NO to Drugs is Bright" and we wore bright schools to school.  (Sorry, I totally forgot to get pictures this day. :(

Friday was "Drugs are Silly" and we wore silly socks to school.

Have you ever been to our habitat? It is gorgeous (and the BEST in the district!!). We got to help plant some cabbage in the habitat on Friday. We will be watching them grow as it will take 6-10 weeks for them to be ready.  Maybe we can eat some when it is ready!

Our Star of the Week this week is friend that is always in a good mood and is constantly keeping us supplied with Skylanders in information!

Jungle Juice, Star of the Week, Clifford, Fall, Pride Rally

What a week!!!!! This week was short, but super busy!! We had lots of amazingly fun activities and we learned soooo much!

Star of the Week:
Our star of the week, this week is a little girl who wants to be a teacher when she grows up! I better watch out...she wants my job! :)

Jungle Juice
To celebrate the letter Jj, we made jungle juice! Each week, we "cook" a recipe. We learn about ingredients, tools, following directions, and vocabulary. AND we get to eat some fun things!

Clifford
Clifford visited our class this week! He came to remind us about the scholastic book fair. We loved having him in our class!

Fall Signs and Symbols

We have been learning about Fall and some of the changes and symbols we will see.

Pride Rally
Two times each month we celebrate the great things going on in our school. We had three birthdays this month and a student of character award!
(PS--- His shirt does not really match him!!)

Star of the Week, Silly Socks, and Book Fair

Star of the Week
This week our Star of the Week is a little boy who has an infectious smile! He is a great friend and loves playing tag at recess!

Silly Sock Day
On Thursday, we celebrated the letter Ss by wearing silly socks. We created an class book about our silly socks, used descriptive language, and graphed our silly socks. Our favorite part of the day was working in our classroom without our shoes on! That was exciting!!

Book Fair
Next week we will have a book fair at our school. Your student choose two books that they were interested in purchasing. That list of books, along with a flyer, was sent home today. If you would like to purchase books, you may send the money to school or personally take your child to the book fair before or after school.

"My teacher made me eat a spider!"

If your child came home and said, "My teacher made me eat a spider today," they were right! We did eat spiders!! Well, cookie spiders, anyway! Today we reviewed the letter Ss, the sound of Ss, and how to write Ss correctly. We learned little facts about spiders and then followed a recipe to make an edible spider. We really enjoyed eating spiders today!
