This star of the week always has a smile and is ready to have a great time! His favorite color is red and he wants to be a doctor when he grows up!

MLK, JR Celebration and Amazing Black Americans
This we learned about Martin Luther King, Jr.  We learned about why he was important and how he fought peacefully to change unfair laws and practices in the United States. We also discussed other Black Americans that have changed American history by inventing things or doing important works.
Mae Jemison was the first black woman is space.  Garrett Morgan was the black inventor of the traffic light.  Alfred Cralle invented the ice cream scoop!

Yummy Yo-yo Cooking
This week we studied the letter Yy, it's sound, words that begin with Yy and we used a recipe to make an edible yo-yo. It was sooooo good!

Don't forget that Monday is a holiday to celebrate the great work of Martin Luther King, Jr.  Have a safe three say weekend and I can't wait to see you on Tuesday!
