X-ray Cooking, Pirates, Maps, Capacity

X-ray Cooking
This is our LAST week of studying a specific letter.  Our cookbook is finished and I hope that you will use these recipes during the summer and years to come!  Enjoy.  This week we studied the letter Xx, it's sound, and how to write it.  We made X-ray cookies and had fun eating the bones!

Maps
This week we are studying maps, what they are used for, how to read a map, and the symbols on a map.  We made treasure maps, maps of our bedroom, and maps of our playground.

Pirates
This week the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy came to our school to put on their Dora the Explorer play.  The play was pirate themed so we dressed a pirates with our hats, eye patches, and flags.  It was GREAT show!!

Capacity
This week in math, we are discovering capacity.  Capacity is how much a container holds.  We have used blocks and rice to measure the capacity of different containers.  It was so much fun!!  All of these activities will be added to Math Tubs next week for review and re-play!
