Star of the Week, Yummy Yo-Yo's, African American History, Number Line Addition

Star of the Week
Our star of the Week is a friend that likes to watch the Ninja Turtles, likes the color yellow, and wants to be a police officer or soldier so that he can put bad guys in jail.

Yummy Yo-Yo's
This week for our cooking lesson, we made yummy yo-yo's.  We followed the directions on a recipe to make our yummy snack.

African American History

This week, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday, we have studied famous African Americans and their contributions.

Mae Jemison was the first American American woman in space.  We discussed what we might see if we went into space.

Garrett Morgan invented the three light traffic light.  Before his invention, we only have the two position light and it caused lots of accidents because their was no warning.

Alfred Cralle was the African American inventor of the ice cream scoop.  We wrote about our favorite flavor of ice cream.

Number Lines
This week we have been using numbers lines to solve addition and subtraction problems.  On Friday, we played Kindergarten Yahtzee using numbers lines.  It was soooo much fun!!!
