Cooking, 100th Day Madness!!, Solar System

This week was a busy week!!!  We learned sooooo much!!

Cooking
This week we learned about marsupial animals (animals that carry their babies in a pouch).  We made kangaroo pockets during our cooking lesson using pita pockets and shredded cheese cooked on a griddle.

Solar System
This week we studied the solar system.  We learned about what makes night and day, the sun, the moon, and the stars.
Two students practicing how the sun (the flashlight) makes light on one side of the earth and night (no light from the flashlight) on the other side of the earth.

100th Day of School
Thursday was the 100th day of school.  We had a fabulous day of celebration and practiced all the different ways to count to 100.
100th Day of School masks to help us practice reading and counting to 100.

Sign hung from the door to celebrate the special day!

Even our DBU students, Ms. Craven and Ms. Wood, got into the 100th day spirit!!

Celebrating the 10th day with a special 100th day trail mix snack.

Counting to 100 by 10's to make an ice cream cone with 10 scoops.

What will you look like when you are 100 years old?!?!  This was sooooo much fun!!
(And kinda scary for Mrs. Nieves to see herself!!!  AAAHHHHH!!)

We practiced counting to 100.

We made 100 chart puzzles.

We built a 100 chart using the numbers in a bowl.

We played a game to guess how many rolls of the dice it would take to get to 100.

We made pictorial 100 charts in the computer lab.
