Cooking, Dentist Field Trip, 3D shapes, Rainbows, Inchworms

Cooking
This week we learned about the letter Ii.  We used a recipe to make an inchworm snack.  That inchworm was sooooo yummy.

Inchworms
Since we "ate" inchworms, we decided to investigate real worms in the science lab.  We observed them under a hand lens and got to hold them.  We found out that they eat the dirt.  Some of us LOVED holding them….some of us ran as fast as would could to get away!!!!!

3D Shapes
3D shapes are shapes that are made of several 2D flat shapes put together.  We sorted 3D and 2D shapes using food, we graphed them on a tree map, and we create them using gum drops and toothpicks.

We are creating 3D shapes from gumdrops and toothpicks:

Rainbows
We are studied rainbows, what makes a rainbow, when you can see a rainbow, and the sequence of the rainbow colors.
We wrote about what we learned.

ROY G. BIV teaches us the colors in order.

Found found rainbows in CD's.

We found rainbows in light disks.

We found rainbows in 3D glasses.

We found rainbows in bubbles.

Dentist Field Trip
This week we visited the dentist to learn about what tools they use and how to keep our teeth healthy.  It was a great trip!!
