Star of the Week, Story Re-telling, Cooking Spiders, Silly Sock Day, Christopher Columbus, Fall

Star of the Week
Our Star Student is week is a friend that loves to jump rope.  She wants to be a teacher when she grows up and loves the color pink.

Story Re-telling
In Kindergarten we talk about the three ways to read a book (read the pictures, read the words, and re-tell the story).  This is important to be able to re-tell in the correct order.  We practice this skill with pictures and puppets at the beginning of the year and later will be able to re-tell using only our memory and words.

In the picture below, we are retelling the story Silly Sally.

Cooking Spiders
Our Cooking Lesson this week used a recipe to cook spiders. We practiced following directions, the letters Ss, and the sound of Ss.

Silly Sock Day
On Friday we celebrated the letter Ss by wearing willing socks.  We spent the day without shoes and walking around our classroom in our silly socks.  It was a comfy, but Silly Day!!

Columbus Day
Monday is Columbus Day.  This week we learned about Christopher Columbus and how he discovered the Bahamas on accident!!

Fall
This week we are continuing our study of Fall and weather changes.  We have talking about what the animals are doing and how the weather is changing the trees and our clothing choices!
